The Third Training Workshop on Human Rights Reporting


Journalists asked to work with sincerity

A three-day training workshop jointly organized by Democracywatch and the British High commission on human rights reporting.

Attorney General A F Hassan Arif attended in the inaugural session as the chief guest.

JaiJaiDin editor Shafik Rehman, eminent journalist and columnist Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury, among others, were present with Executive Director of Democracywatch Taleya Rehman in the chair.

The attorney general said responsibility of a journalist is to keep the mirror of the society clean.

National interest is the priority for journalist to disseminate any information, he said.

Calling upon the journalists to discharge their professional responsibilities with utmost sincerity and honesty, Shafik Rehman said "We all have to uphold basic human rights in all spheres of life."

Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury said reporting on human rights are getting importance globally and journalists should equip themselves to develop their quality of reporting in this connection.

A total of 45 journalists from different dailies and news agencies have been participating in the workshop.
